I have a read only texted document that I scanned and saved into word (OCR, Rich Text).  I am having trouble typing text into the texted area of that document, because of tabs that are automatically set.  Also when the document was saved into Word it did not come the same as when ...

I want to change the default setting in the text watermark. Currently the default includes the semitransparent feature and I don't want that, but I cannot seem to find a way to change the default setting.

Does anyone know why a gray border appears in print preview for some
pages?  The page seems to be formatted slightly differently and Word
displays rulers whenever one of these pages is encountered.  It seems
to appear near section or page breaks.

I do I eliminate a blank page at the end of a word document.  The pages are numbered but page 6 is blank.  Thanks

How do I keep two words together (not split between lines)
when they are not hyphenated? I need a parallel for 'non-
breaking hyphens' without hyphented words like say 'Golden
Arches'

Do you place a page break before the footer? I want to include the footer on the page but can't seem to be able to put the break after the footer.

Is there a way to change the default distance between columns and save
it in Normal.dot? I'd like to make the default .25 instead of .5 but
find I must do this every time I create new columns, even in the same
document.

I have Table of Contents in my word 2000 file.  In most of
the systems 1 Overview is getting displayed normally.  But
in one of the system it displays like
1 Overview{tc \l1 "1.Overview}

I can't get Landscape Orientation to function properly.  When I insert a table or type text, the return is as if it were in portrait. I've adjusted every setting I can think of but landscape won't work. I've rebooted a few times to no avail. Any suggestions?
