Word XP using a Brother laser printer. I have set up a table and have shaded every other row for readability - grey shade, 5% density - but when I print the shading does not appear. I've tried various % of shading but it never comes out.

I inherited a long document that has a horizontal line in the header. It looks like it belongs there - I just want to be able to change the size, color, etc. I don't know how to get at it. I can't click on it or drag above and below to get it. What is this thing?

A client would like a blue line between her columns instead of a standard black line. She has the line box checked in the column setup box. Where do I change that color?

When I change one item, such as bold, font, color, etc., it applies to the whole document and I have to undo ... when I "undo" the item I changed remains in the new format and the rest of the document returns to its former state.

Word 2000: I have found no way to remove a line that is added from column to column as auto-complete action if I type "===". Help! Any ideas?

I'm going nuts! I was using *** (which appears as a dotted line if autoformat is on) and I can't seem to delete these lines. I can't even select them. HELP!

I am using Word 2003 and cannot get the margins to be 1" all around. When I set these it prompts that there is a problem - when I choose fix is sets the bottom margin to 2.67". When I choose ignore it still cuts off at this point. I've used the printer for years with Word 2000 ...
