Page width with a life of its own16 Aug 2004 01:09 GMT3
Help.
I've got a long document which is refusing to layout as A4. I've tried all
the obvious things. File/Page setup/apply to whole document etc.
What originally happened was, I adjusted the right margin via the ruler in
Excel14 Aug 2004 22:58 GMT1
Please help for my rosters:
1.  How do I rename the columns at the top.
2.  Does sorting the names alphabetically work (or does
it mess up the other columns)?
paragraph markers following footnote separation line14 Aug 2004 19:49 GMT2
in a document I received of a third party, I found footnotes with a
separation line that's followed with a number of paragraph markers. The
separation line and the paragraph markers are all disabled. When I activate
the footer text they are enabled but I can still not delete the ...
Left margin adjustment too sensitive13 Aug 2004 20:08 GMT3
In Word 2000, when I try to get hold of the left margin
indicator to adjust it, it is just ridiculously sensitive
and you have to get the pointer j u s t on it to within a
tiny fraction otherwise it activates the First Line
Horizontal Ruler13 Aug 2004 14:46 GMT1
The horizontal ruler is gone and for the life of me I cannot get it to show
up.  I work in print layout.  I've gone into tools, options etc, the
horizontal/vertical boxes are checked.  What did I do?
TOC indentation13 Aug 2004 12:43 GMT4
Whenever I update my TOC I have some lines (with
identical style to others) lose their indentation.
e.g.  section A........................1
     section B 2
Footer13 Aug 2004 12:08 GMT1
I created a footer 12 months ago and remember that it
wasn't easy to sort out. I now want to change the content
of the footer as information has now changed. When I
changed the information and come out of the footer the
footer separation line13 Aug 2004 08:47 GMT1
My document contains footnotes. Till recently the short
line, that is automatically put on every page above the
footnote - if there are -, was put on every page just
above the first footnote on that particular page.
Header Height13 Aug 2004 03:15 GMT5
The Header Height on my Word document is covering the
entire table and its text on the page.  When I try to
adjust the header height using the verticle ruler, the
height simply won't adjust.  Do you know what to do?
cut and paste columns13 Aug 2004 03:15 GMT1
I cut from Adobe to paste in Word.  Adobe text is in 2
columns.  When I paste it appears as a column but I want
it to fill the page out to the margin.  How can I do this
quickly without going to the end of each line and deleting
Page numbers not printing13 Aug 2004 02:35 GMT1
My word 2003 will only print {Page} instead of the page number. The layout
shows the correct page numbers but the Print Preview shows {Page} just like
it prints. I have never had a problem with headers or footers before and
wonder what I am doing wrong.
Vertical Text12 Aug 2004 23:08 GMT3
I'd like to put some phone numbers along the bottom of a flyer in a vertical
format so people could rip off a tag with the phone number.  The letters can
be horizontal one on top of the other and read normally or sideways either
one is OK
Equation Editor problem12 Aug 2004 17:27 GMT3
For some reason, when I opened some documents that I wrote last week, the
equation objects all have accquired a grey background. Also when I now
insert a new equation object, it has a grey background, how has this
happened, and how can I fix it
Protect Sections for forms12 Aug 2004 13:21 GMT2
All previous versions of Word allowed Document Protection
in specified sections of the document (protect section for
forms), leaving the unprotected sections available for
editing by the user.  Word 2003 seems to have eliminated
Tab placement and the ruler12 Aug 2004 13:02 GMT2
When I create a document, and later edit it, I am able to place tabs
at 1/16-inch intervals by clicking on the ruler. However, I'm having
some trouble placing tabs in some documents sent to me from other
users. In these documents, I can only click on the 1/8-inch interval
