In Word 2002, the number of total pages of eah document can be automatically
updated, if set as before, by the program but it is alwalys wrong.  Why?

When typing a paper or manuscript how do I include a running head on every
page?

I'm running Word 2000 under Windows 98 on three PCs.
I've a Word document on PC 1 that has 49 pages.
I copied the document to PCs 2 and 3. On PC 2 the file
has 78 pages, whilst on PC 3 it correctly has 49 pages.

I'm trying to figure out how to use the "manual" template that comes with
Word 2003.  
(1) In the template it says to print out the template, then "position
yourself in Normal View to see the Style names next to each paragraph."  When

line numbers are bigger than the text and are crammed together

I have my document set into chapters, and I use Chapter 1 as my heading 1.
However when I go to chapter 2 and subsequent chapters, and apply "heading
2" then it starts with number 1.2 instead of 2.1. What can I do?
If I set the restart numbering then is worse, the number I get is 1 ...

Working on a technical report in Word 2000, in track change mode.  The
software will not stop repaginating - going to 9000+ pages.  I've put the
cursor at the end of the text, but cannot go any farther in the document.  
Copying to another file does not stop the repaginating.

I normally use LaTeX for text formatting, but am collaborating with a
colleague on a paper, and she only uses Word. While I can handle 95%
of the basics of Word just fine, one thing has me stumped - the
journal we're submitting the paper to requires line numbering.

I have a Word document of about 180 pages with a TOC, headers, footers and
page numbers.  The header contains floating graphics in a one-row, three-cell
table.  Every time I move the cursor at any point past the TOC, the entire
document repaginates three or four times, as if ...

1)  I need to be able to create documents with something like a watermark
that says draft acroos each page, then I need to be able to turn it off.  I
have tried watermarks but you have to remove them from each section and each
document.  surly there is a way to do this...maybe ...

Using XP Pro with Office 2003 SP1. When I print a doc created with Office
2000, the text on the preview and print layouts is shifted to the left and
