I would like to have a background in a work documents, any suggestions

We have documents that we have comments embedded into.  In Word 2003, the
default when opening a file is FINAL SHOWING MARKUP.  How can we get this to
be FINAL.
Also, when we save the document in FINAL mode, and we send this document off

Is it possible to add an autoshape to a style ?
I like to have an style with a colored background and rounded corners....

I would like to protect the header and footer from edits in order to make an
electronic version of a company letterhead.  

In Word 2003, as in others I have used in the past, It doesn't page break for
me.  Every time I need a Document over a page in length I must use different
files for every page.  Its a big hassle.  Is it just my computer?

After selecting text, adding a 3d border; how is it CROPPED to closely
corral the text?

I am combining two documents using Word Automation.  
The first document has 2 pages which when the table on this document is
populated could expand to 3 pages.  The second document has only 2 pages.
When totally combined I have 5 pages.  The first document shows page 1,2,3
