In any document, I try to format a section/line/group of words with a special
color, or style or size, and the whole document gets the new format, not just
the text I have selected.  How do I only format a section of my doc.?

I go through this every month when writing the minutes for our Board of
Directors meetings in outline form. I use the outline feature (numbering) and
when I try to put a double space between, say, I and A, Word automatically
inserts II. As long as I ONLY single space, everything ...

Trying to figure out how to use and configure your outline, number and bullet
list feature is confusing as heck. It costs me hours of downtime trying to
figure it out and I always have to compromise with something I'm not quite
happy with.

These are the corner marks that a printer uses to trim copy that is smaller
than the paper size. They look like "L" and backwards and upsidedown "L". I
have seen them in Word documents received from others but haven't been able

when i select a colored background for my document, it shows in the print
preview, that it does not cover the whole page. After Printing same result as
preview. How can i set the background that covers up the intire page?

When trying to do a page setup in the middle of a document, I get a pop-up
message that 'column widths cannot be less than 0.5"'.  There are tables in
the document, but none have column widths less than 0.5"  The error message
aborts my page setup; it not just informational.
