In word 2003, when use caption to a equation, the caption position has only two choices:top or bottom. Can the caption be placed beside equation,that is,left or right?

I prefer to see my Word 2003 docs in Print Layout view ONLY. However, various things keep changing the view to the Reading Layout which is just awful because the page formatting and numbering is almost never correct. What keeps causing this view to appear and how do I abolish it ...

My footnotes somehow got reformatted so that the area allotted for them now takes up the bottom third of the page. I want to have footnotes appear in a smaller area just above my page # footer.

We are formatting a Word document to use as an operations manual. We want to leave a 2 in. on the outside of each page (so odd and even page formats must alternate) for notes. When the manual is open, the left page will have an indented margin with space for notes on the left ...

For some reason every time I open a new document the same old document always appears. I have tried uninstalling and installing it again, but it still keeps coming up!
