I am drafting a report and for some reason when I have a numbered list that
spans 2 sections I can not get the numbers to restart on the first number of
each section. No matter how many times I try to restart the numbering the
numbers just continue on from the previous section. ...

Help! Using the Envelopes and Labels tool,  I've printed 500+ envelopes and
labels successfully, but today the return address is 1.0" too far to the left
and the envelope address is  .75" too far to the left!  What's the easiest

how do I get clip art to stay where i put it?   I click on format picture,

I have a document that the Page Setup menu claims has the footer 0.5" from
the bottom edge of the paper.  This looks to be the case when I view the
Print Preview.  However, when I print, the footer is closer to 3" from the
bottom edge of the paper.

I am trying to add just text on a name badge template but cannot get rid of
the black square around the text box.  I just want to instert a picture, than
their name beside the picture.  Without the text box! What am I doing wrong?

Every time I open Word, it shows faint grey brackets, and I can't figure out

I am trying to make a page that has the same image in four separate boxes,
3.5 x 5, so I can print it and cut the page into four separate flyers.  I
know how to make columns, but don't know how to make four boxes.

When I try to print bussiness cards, the heading prints upside down.  How can
I stop this?

I'm trying to change the default page margins and even though I select
"default" and confirm that I want the changes to apply to all docs based on
the normal template when I exit the program and reopen it the margins have
reverted back to factory settings.

When I insert a section break, the resulting header and footer are set to be
linked to the previous header and footer.  Is there a way to turn off this
default?

I would like to add side headings to my thesis document to provide a running
