I know how to use the Word page numbering tools but I need the page number to be ii, iii, iv, etc and NOT ii., iii., iv., etc. The period is my problem. Any help here? Ken

I have managed to change the direction of text in Word. I am not talking about the text direction inside a text box or table cell, but the default background text. The text direction button is greyed-out (as you are not supposed to be able to change it in the first place).

What is the best way to have a line under the Header text. This line should always be precisely at the same distance from the top, such as can be found in many books. Drawing a line manually is not very good, as it is difficult to position it precisely in different sections.

I just changed to 2003, when I open my default margins are set at 1" all around (I am a student) however, the view does not show this & when I printed it did not happen that way.

Even though I have the bottom margins set to 1", no matter what i do it prints it at 1 1/2". What am I doing wrong? This is VERY frustrating!

Trying to type a Policy Mannual, It is in outline form but not "True Outline". Need to have the freedom to type document without Word trying to autocorrect my spacing & outline letters. Is there a way to turn off all autocorrect features or is there an easier way?

I want to create a quick index on the fore edges of a book, using shaded blocks that bleed to the edge of the page, so readers can quickly locate sections of the book. How is this done in Word? (and what do Microsoft call this feature if not an 'edge index'?)
