Vertical Text25 Sep 2006 11:06 GMT3
I have managed to change the direction of text in Word. I am not talking
about the text direction inside a text box or table cell, but the default
background text. The text direction button is greyed-out (as you are not
supposed to be able to change it in the first place).
Line across under the Header Text24 Sep 2006 07:09 GMT3
What is the best way to have a line under the Header text. This line should
always be precisely at the same distance from the top, such as can be found
in many books. Drawing a line manually is not very good, as it is difficult
to position it precisely in different sections.

My problem is the same as the post on 8/9 of this year and I still can't get

which doesn't help me much. I tried all of the suggestions posted, but cannot
find an additional section break to justify the ...

I have to create a document with 18 'text' boxes containing a
photograph and brief details.  I need to be able to move the boxes
easily to keep these in alphabetical order when I need to add one.
I have tried using a table but it's not easy to work with.
How do I create an edge index for a book?22 Sep 2006 15:17 GMT3
I want to create a quick index on the fore edges of a book, using shaded
blocks that bleed to the edge of the page, so readers can quickly locate
sections of the book. How is this done in Word? (and what do Microsoft call
this feature if not an 'edge index'?)
How to set up a two column document that continues to  next page.22 Sep 2006 15:14 GMT2
I am preparing a document with 2 columns comparing two handbooks. I set up a
two-column landscape page. I started out by completing one page at a time
instead of continuous pages because the text  continued into the wrong
column. It was a pain when I emailed each page separately ...
