I have a multi-chapter project, where each chapter has been created as a single word document. I need to label the pages as A-1, A-2, etc. B-1, B-2, etc. for each chapter without messing with the chapter headings or otherwise affecting the layout.

Does anyone know of any features in Word that let you use a markup language in much the same way as TeX or LaTex? I am using MikTex on windows and finding it rather clumsy. I am willing to learn a new syntax so it doesn't need to be TeX.

When I open Word documents, I want them to automatically come up 100% size. I'm tired of opening tiny stuff and having to resize. Is it just a matter of always maximizing the window? We use Office XP.

I can't change margins. Page in Microsoft said to clean up "Normal.dot." I don't have Normal.dot in any file or folder. I found Normal and ~$Normal. I run Windows Professional and have Microsoft Office Professional 2003 and Normal.dot is supposed to be a hidden folder anyway ...
