Is it possible to take an already existing list that goes scross from top to

I type am em-dash using the keyboard. Now, when I go to the Insert Menu,
Symbols is not there. I restarted the computer and Symbols is still not on
the Insert Menu. What can i do?

There are already heading attachments 1 and 2.  I inadvertently took out #3
