Go easy on a non-geek.
I've tried to absorb directions about Word's pagination.  It's not easy
particularly when Word pages must
(1)  start numbering from the 2nd page,

I spend half of my life with Word but . . this is new to me:
When I pasted dashes like this into Word

they were converted to a margin to margin solid horzontal line that repeats

I am trying to create one document with two different pages in it. I require
the first page to be a landscape 2 page and the second page to be an A4
portrait.  I have tried inserting a section break but it keeps changing the
first page to a portrait.  Any tips how I can do this ...

I have 2 instances where the titles appears twice in the TOC. In both cases,
the first entry has only a page break and no other text and the second entry
is the correct one.  IE, in example below, page 16 has only a page break,
page 17 is the correct page for the Show Committee ...

I somehow changed the style on my footnotes and now there is a large gap
above them, roughly one return long. Is there ANY way to close the gap so the
first note is just up against the separating line?

it looks like a box cut in half diagonally. it's placed on the top right and
left corners. how do I get rid of them? thanks.

I am writing a thesis with a left gutter of 0.5 for binding.  I need to
landscape a page, so I used a section break and in headers and footers under
the page setup I changed the gutter position to the top from left.  It keeps
changing my whole paper not just that section.  Help ...

I've got a document where I'd like to have a horizontal line separating the
header from the page text. Using the Borders & Shading options worked to
insert it, but the problem is that it doesn't quite reach all the way to the

document that overall is printing in portrait? Does this involve some way of
rotating the page to be printed from portrait to landscape? Any information

I opened up a document from an email which has no macros or anything of the
like in it.  I know the rules of documents, and I have my default page setup

Each section consisting of several pages (for example, 7 pages per section)
needs to have a WPI number on the last page and not on the previous pages (6
previous pages in this example).  This needs to be done in each section.

While I know how to print multiple document pages per physical sheet,
I can't find a way to print one document page across several physical
sheets!
