The line above the footnote is indented beyond the left margin and I can't figure out how to realign that line with the margin. How do you move the line above the footnote?

When I insert a footnote it is going to the end of the page, not the end of the section. I have try restart each section, continous. Not sure what I can do? Some of my pages have pictures or tables.

Have an issue with footnotes. Need to know if there is a way to create a custom format for them. We need a something like this: ____ 1 ____ footnote text. with _ being spaces. Is there such a way to do this in Word?

I can't find anything in the documentation about what it means to set the before/after line spacing to "auto" - it's certainly not the same as 0 which is the default value. with word 2003 on a test document, the "styles" pane reports "before:5pt;
