Why doesn't page layout view display the whole page?08 Aug 2007 23:21 GMT4
When I open a new document in Word 2003, in Print View, the horizontal ruler
displays the margins as blue areas and the entire 8.5" width of the page is
shown, but the vertical ruler displays only the working area, without the
margins.  So I'm left with a disconcerting display ...

Converting to Word and Auto Return08 Aug 2007 23:13 GMT1
When I convert an Adobe document to recognize OCR and then cut and paste into
Word, I get automatic returns at the end of each line.  Is there an easy way
to auto delete these (by selection instead of by entirety would be nice)?
Vertical page number on horizontal page08 Aug 2007 22:08 GMT1
One of the appendices in my dissertation is a multi-page table that must be
printed with the page in horizontal orientation to fit. But I still have to
put the page numbers at the bottom of the page as if it were in vertical
orientation. How do I do that?
strange behavior with manual template08 Aug 2007 21:33 GMT1
I'm using the manual template from MS Word 2003.  Somehow some goofy
coding got into the document that causes the cover, title and preface
pages to "appear" as if they are wider than the rest of the pages in
page layout view.  The problem is when I print the manual, these pages
How to reduce bottom margin when printing HTML in Word08 Aug 2007 19:31 GMT1
We have an intranet application running which produces HTML when a link is
clicked by a user and gives that to the IE browser using custom headers
(ContentType=application/msword)
This way, the browser loads MS Word and presents the content. Until here,
Headers and footers in Master doc vs Subdocuments08 Aug 2007 19:15 GMT1
I have a Master Doc with subdocuments. Each subdoc is its own section. I
created the headers and footers within the expanded master doc. Two of my
sections/Subdocs will not save my header/footer changes. It keeps revering
back to the template text. It appears to save, but after I ...

Creating an Index08 Aug 2007 19:07 GMT1
I am working with a large multi-chapter official County government document
that is broken down into fifteen Articles (chapters).  Each Article is
further broken down into Sections (2-101, 2-102, etc.) and there are also
page numbers in each Article (II-1, II-2, etc.).  I have ...
Markup area08 Aug 2007 04:41 GMT5
I'm using a document created by another company Word 2003 that apparently has
some protections and can only be viewed and printed with a markup area on the
right hand side.  None of this shows up when the document is edited or
printed in Word 2003.  In 2007 every change that has ...
Section breaks to have different margins - not working08 Aug 2007 01:46 GMT4
I know that it is possible to have different margin setups on one page by
inserting a continuous section break.
So i placed my cursor and selected the position in the document where i
wanted to insert the break, that worked fine.
Cross-reference08 Aug 2007 00:53 GMT1
Half of my group has been migrated to Windows XP and Word 2003, and we are
having problems exchanging Word documents. When you open a document in Word
2003, a cross-reference is superscripted; when you open in Word 2000, it's
not. Anyone else have this problem?
Page numbering07 Aug 2007 20:48 GMT1
I am making booklets 4.25 x 5.5, I'm using the 8.5 x 11 page and cutting it
in half to make 2/booklets. I can't figure out how to get page numbers on
correctly because each page has to be numbered twice (2/page #1, 2/page #2
etc...)  Can this be done?
How do I insert a new page from a text box?07 Aug 2007 20:42 GMT1
I have set up a password protected template for our office to use in a wide
variety of ways. My problem is inserting a new page when there is too much
text in the body text box. What happens now when I insert a page break is
that it forces the whole first page to a second one.
LISTNUM07 Aug 2007 14:04 GMT2
Hi, why could it be that sometimes when I make a "heading1" text and insert
a LISTNUM field in front of it I get a number like "2." and sometimes I get
"2.1"?
I thought "heading 1" meant that I would get a LISTNUM field with only
