I am being forced to use Word 2000 and I have generated a table of contents
along with my page numbers in my footer but the problem is that they are
grayed out but they print ok.

I have hundreds of cross references in my document. Every time I update the
TOC, save the file, or convert it to PDF (all actions which update the
references) the cross reference bounces to a new page. Please help!
