I only have a small space (1 3/4" by 2 3/4" ) I am typing information to

in a paper, I give a figure number, such as figure 1, figure 2..., I want to
connect these figure number to the attached figure, so that every time when I
adjust figure in the attached, the figure number in the text change at the
same time. Where to find this function in the word ...

I've adjusted my default margins to .5", but when I open a text document
created in something like notepad, the document margins become 1".  By the
way I saved the .5"  to my default template so new Word documents show the
correct margin, only text documents do not.

I'd like to know how to insert page numbers at the bottom of each column when
the page is in landscape format with two columns.

I have TXT file I converted to Word 2003 that used spaces instead of tabs for
indents and ended every line with a carriage return. Here's a sample:

I am trying to print out some bussiness cards. I need cut marks on them; how
do i add the marks to the page?

Since moving to 2007 when I use same a previous, nothing happens. I click the
button, get the message " do you want to delete this ..etc." I click Yes, and
nothing changes.
Has something changed in 2007 that I need to update so this will work?

I have older word documents that allow placing tab stops between the ruler
tick marks as well as "on" tick marks.  But when I open a new document, I can
only place tab stops "on" the tick marks.
What setting can I make in a new document that will allow setting tab stops
