I have an HP Laserjet 1200 series printer that was
working without a problem.  I can print the test sheet
but that is all.  I have checked all my connections and
see no problem.  I have two questions:

Is there a way to let Word (or better still, Windows XP) remember printer
default settings? I find that I need to redefine constantly page size
constants such as 'A4' instead of 'letter' , print quality 'black and white'
instead of colour, etc.

On the file menu, print option the control + p is missing
and the print dialogue box is missing the job goes
directly to the printer.  How can I see print rqange
options, etc.

Sorry, this is the first time I've used Community
Newsgroups.  I'm hoping our particular situation might

I have a rtf document created in wordpad using both English and Russian
fonts. Somehow, all of the Russian characters changed to question marks. Any
ideas?
