Hi there, I'm trying to help a friend format a Word 97
document.  She's running Word 97 on Windows ME.
Some readings lead me to believe that this problem (red
x's instead of images) might be remedied by installing the

Try this, open a new Word document and type the following:
=rand(200,99)

When I try to create a document the font comes up Red and
Underlined. I tried highliting the tex and changing the
color but no change. Nomatter what color font I select it
comes up Red and underlined. The heading says Normal +

My computer came with Works Suite pre-installed.   I have
the CD's in the little white envelopes they came in.  I
just upgraded to XP and reinstalled the Works Suite.  When

    About3 months ago my computer crashed. Windows didnt

My computer (running Windows XP Home) was hit by a worm,
and I eventually had to reinstall the OS. I also had to
reinstall my Office 2000 pack and now when I run up Word
it goes through the preparing to install/configure

When I try to open an MS Word file (.doc) I receive a
message that states "WINWORD has caused an error in
