On a MS Word table that is longer than two pages, how can I keep the
first row with the first header? It wants to put the first row on a
new page.

Word asks if I want to save changes when no changes were made (by me)04 Dec 2003 18:20 GMT1
I have one document that keeps prompting me to save
changes, even if I just open a document and then close it
without making changes. I seem to have narrowed it down
to a table. If I delete the table, the prompt does not
Table header row does not appear04 Dec 2003 18:01 GMT2
Does anyone have any idea why this might happen? I'm
creating a table in Word 2002 that is 100% of the page. I
have selected the entire first row of the table and
chosen Heading Rows Repeat, but the heading row does not
Label text04 Dec 2003 17:18 GMT1
I was upgraded to Windows XP on WORD and now my labels text indents only the first line.  I can line the text flush with the left border, and I do want a block text, but not flush with the left border.  There is a default setting that I cannot remove that will not allow me to ...
Tables, styles and bugs04 Dec 2003 05:54 GMT4
I have built a Word template and created documents based
on it. I am perpetually having problems with tables. When
the template is applied to pre-existing documents based
on the Normal.dot, ever cell in every table becomes
Darkened cell borders03 Dec 2003 22:51 GMT1
I just pasted two table rows from Excel 2002 into a Word 2002 table,
and found that, for the first time ever, I have a slightly darkened (or
thickened) horizontal gridline above and below the pasted rows.  It
disappears with the other gridlines when I do Hide Gridlines.
Auto numbering for table rows03 Dec 2003 22:49 GMT1

or outline) in table cells.  The numbering button yields
only one level of numbers, but I am looking for four
levels.
Cross-Ref to "this" Caption in VBA?03 Dec 2003 22:45 GMT1
Thanks to the heroic efforts of Jay Freedman and Suzanne Barnhill, I now
have half a handle on Captions and Cross-References.  I think it will make
things easier - but first I have to implement these in a report already
written.  I'm using these for table headers, and there's about ...
Table formatting while protecting a cell03 Dec 2003 22:41 GMT4
I have a series of tables in a document, each with three cells. Is there any
way I can protect the initial formatting in one of these three cells so that
I can globally reformat everything else?
Many thanks.
spell checking in protected form03 Dec 2003 20:26 GMT2
I am helping someone create a fill-in form. They noticed
that spell checking does not work when typing in free
text in a fill-in field in a table. Is there a way to
enable spell checking in a form field in a table?

selecting the table. Can I do this using a range? How?
I know I can hide the table using

Freeze Rows03 Dec 2003 07:56 GMT7
Does anyone know if you can freeze rows in a table in Word.  I believe this can be done in other MS programs and I've done it with columns before, but I can't figure it out or find it for rows in Word.  I know you can SPLIT rows, but that is not what I need to do.  Thanks.
Table text and drawing objects - Word200003 Dec 2003 03:27 GMT2
I am going around the bend with this problem in Word 2000.
I have a table where a cell is actually made up of two or
more merged cells.  The text in this cell is centre-centre
aligned.  I want to put a circle (transparent inside, red
Code that will auto-number tables in report?02 Dec 2003 22:13 GMT12
I think people are about done messing with the report "I" am writing.  Now
it's time to go through and make all the changes work.  One issue is tables
added and deleted.  Is there a way to go through the document to pick up the
"number" of each table, and use that in the table ...
