I have a two page document that is mainly tables.
It's size (accoording to Properties) is 91Kb but print
manager shows it as 18Mb and it is taking 20 to 30 minutes
to print.

I process financial documents which start in Word and end up either in
QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign.  Occasionally, a client will send a Word
document over that has financial tables that originated in Excel, but were
inserted using the Paste Special ‹) Paste as Picture command.  ...

I have a Word doc with two tables seperated by 1 line. There is a return character at the beginning of the line. For some reason this character does not respond to being deleted and hence will not allow the two tables to merge
